John Wick Movie Mailbox
Packaging Design
Independent conceptual work.
No affiliation with Lionsgate or the John Wick franchise.
A cinematic mailbox system that translates the John Wick universe into a tactile, collectible experience. Inspired by The Continental’s codes of secrecy and ritual, each element—coins, documents, and sealed artifacts—functions as both packaging and narrative device.
Through restrained graphics, structured composition, and symbolic detailing, the design explores how packaging can extend storytelling beyond the screen into a physical, immersive system.

ritual . rules . elegance . violence
John Wick (2014) is a neo-noir action film that follows a retired assassin pulled back into an underground world governed by its own codes, rituals, and hierarchy. Beneath the violence lies a refined, almost ceremonial system — represented by institutions like The Continental and the High Table.

WHAT IS THE MAILER ABOUT
This press mailer is designed as an invitation-only arrival experience at The Continental Hotel — a sanctuary within the assassin underworld where rules, luxury, and discretion coexist.
The mailer reimagines the moment of “check-in” as a tactile, layered unboxing experience, where each object functions as both a narrative artifact and a collectible piece from the John Wick universe.

PACKAGING STRUCTURE
A drawer-style rigid box system inspired by luxury hospitality packaging
— translating the hierarchy, precision, and ritual of The Continental into a physical structure.

Central Compartment (Merged Vertical Slot) → Contains a mini whiskey bottle / decanter

DESIGN LANGUAGE
The design language draws from Art Deco influences found within The Continental — combining geometric precision, symmetry, and metallic detailing with a restrained black and gold palette.
Typography is sharp, structured, and authoritative, reflecting the rigid hierarchy of the High Table. Material choices emphasize tactility — including matte surfaces, metallic accents, and embossed details — creating a sense of weight and permanence.
The overall aesthetic balances elegance and danger, capturing the duality of the John Wick world.

TAKE-HOME EXPERIENCE
This mailer extends the world of John Wick beyond the screen — transforming cinematic storytelling into a tangible, lived experience.
Rather than a traditional promotional package, it positions the recipient as a guest of The Continental, inviting them to engage directly with its rituals, symbols, and coded systems.
By translating narrative into physical artifacts, the experience becomes something to be held, explored, and remembered — not just seen, but inhabited.
